The objective of the circular economy is to make the most of resources, reduce raw materials and take advantage of waste, recycling it or giving it a new life to, ultimately, lengthen the life cycle of products.
In this sense, the Government of Aragon created the Aragón Circular community, made up of all those companies in the province of Aragón that contribute to the transition of Aragonese society towards the circular economy, promoting and supporting its evolution towards excellent, innovative management. , sustainable and circular, in which Defeder is attached.
The entities adhering to the "Declaration for the Circular Economy in Aragon" are part of the Circular Aragon Community.
Initially, the linear economy focuses on extracting, producing, consuming and throwing away, while the circular economy is extract, produce, consume, reuse and recycle.
In the Declaration for the Circular Economy in Aragon, the signatories commit, for example, to contributing to the achievement of the objectives established in the Action Plan for the Circular Economy in Europe aligned with the European Growth Strategy 2020 and the Roadmap towards an Efficient Europe in the use of resources; to inform and raise awareness of the progress of the linear model when circulating in our business, work, educational or personal sphere of influence; or to promote innovation in ecodesign in products, their packaging and production systems, guaranteeing their efficiency in the use of energy and materials, and increasing their reuse and recyclability. The plan includes up to a total of 16 measures to move towards the achievement of an innovative, circular, competitive, diversified economy, the backbone of the territory, generator of quality employment, efficient use of resources and more resilient to the effects derived from the climate change.
Circular Economy
The transformation of the current Economy towards a Circular Economy is a process that is coming with force and is currently presented as an irreversible and urgent trend at the international level.
The sustainability of this economy is based on minimizing the use of natural and energy resources, substituting them for resources derived from by-products and waste generated, and emissions derived from production processes and the consumption of goods and services itself.
Actions such as the reuse of disused products and the recovery of waste, extending the life cycle of products as far as possible and improving the efficiency of processes and uses, facilitates innovation and circularity of the economy and business and social competitiveness. and environmental.
In addition, it contributes to a diversified, eco-efficient and more resilient economy in the face of resource scarcity (raw materials, water and energy) and the effects of climate change.
At Defeder we are committed to the circular economy, which is why we offer an opportunity to organic raw materials, which are discarded on a regular basis and are given a second Life. We manufacture organic nutrients for sustainable agriculture through the circular economy and the viability, hand in hand with R+D+i thus contributing to a healthier future.
